Ryuuga Thank you for the explanation. I didn't realize Caribbean may be recycling releases.
Interesting about 10Musume. We actually show some of their older content on our site and haven't heard anything about it. Do you notice a trend as to the content being taken down there? Random deletions or all content released between X and Y has been removed?
I don't really follow the DMM-owned studios that much so I can't comment there, but I do always look over new releases for the studios we work with and their output seems pretty much standard. It's possible 'new faces' may be decreasing if you only count big name AV stars (I've never counted, but maybe you are?), but that doesn't mean there's a lack of amateur talent. Also many of the popular AV stars are remaining in the biz longer nowadays. Long gone are AV careers that only last 2-3 years tops.
Anyway, I don't mean to doubt anything, but I don't feel the censored AV industry is in a dire doom-and-gloom situation as bad as what you wrote in the original post. Censored AV has had its legal ups and downs every few years since its inception in the 80's. There's been scandals at ethics companies, stars way back in the 90's and 2000's making rape accusations, and more.
Uncensored is a different issue, but uncensored content production Japan has always been a gray area.
